APPROACH.

Mike’s work is built around the belief that audiences should experience the story, not just witness it.

Too often, storytelling in sport and outdoor culture relies on spectacle alone, where action and environment become the entire focus. While spectacle can draw audiences in, it rarely creates the kind of emotional connection needed for audiences to become inspired from the story.

What makes a story truly resonate is when visual craft and human emotion work together. By translating the thoughts, decisions, tension, and emotions inside those moments, the story places audiences inside the characters’ reality as it unfolds so they’re living the action rather than just simply watching it happen.

Mike's found this deeper connection builds stronger bonds between audience and character, leaves a lasting impression, and ultimately drives the kind of engagement and response brands measure most.

Story.

Mike often works at the intersection of two very different worlds: the filmmakers and talent embedded in sports and culture, and the brands and agencies looking to tell stories inside those scenes.

After years producing expedition films and culture-driven advertisements while working closely with brands, agencies, and distribution partners including Universal Pictures, Mike understands both sides of that equation.

He often serves as the bridge between them, helping productions stay authentic to the culture being captured while translating the creative priorities, production realities, and stakeholder expectations of global brands.

The result is work that feels authentic to the communities it represents while still delivering the clarity and impact brands expect.

What types of projects do you produce?

Commercial campaigns, branded films, documentary projects, and athlete-led storytelling across sport, outdoor, lifestyle, and culture. Projects range from large commercial productions to smaller documentary and docu-style brand films, often filmed in real environments or culturally specific scenes.

Do you specialize in outdoor and sport production?

Much of the work happens in outdoor and sport environments including mountains, rivers, race courses, and expedition settings. Projects often involve athletes and crews embedded in these cultures so the stories feel authentic to the communities they represent.

What environments do you typically film in?

Projects often take place in challenging or dynamic environments such as alpine terrain, climbing walls, ski mountains, trail races, motorsport courses, rivers, and remote outdoor locations. Shoots also happen in studios, urban environments, concerts, and cultural settings when the story calls for it.

Do you work on projects outside Colorado or internationally?

Yes, and have produced projects on all 7-continents! While based in Colorado, projects regularly take place across the United States and internationally depending on the needs of the production.

Are you based in Colorado, and do you provide local production support?

Based in Boulder, Colorado, production support is frequently provided for visiting productions shooting throughout the state. This can include local producing, location scouting, permitting guidance, crew sourcing, and coordinating logistics for outdoor and mountain environments.

Do you offer full production or only freelance producing?

Both. Full productions are led from concept through final delivery, and freelance producing support is also available for specific parts of a project including field producing, line producing, post producing, and complex outdoor or expedition logistics.

What freelance producer services do you offer?

Freelance producer services include line producing, field producing, creative producing, and post producing. Support often includes crew sourcing, athlete and talent coordination, production planning, outdoor logistics, permitting, licensing, and editorial or finishing oversight.

Do you work with athletes, musicians, and celebrity talent?

Yes. Many projects involve professional athletes, musicians, and celebrity talent. That often includes coordinating talent logistics, contracts, scheduling, and on-set collaboration to keep productions running smoothly and talent properly supported.

Do you work with agencies as well as brands?

Yes. Projects regularly involve advertising agencies, production companies, creative studios, and brands. Sometimes the work begins during early concept development, while other times the role is focused on managing production or post-production execution.

How early in the production process should a producer be involved?

Ideally early. Bringing a producer into the process during concept development helps shape production strategy, budgets, locations, crew, and logistics. Early involvement often makes production more efficient and helps ensure the creative vision translates successfully to screen.
